The Problem

Starting from scratch sounds exciting. In reality, it’s where most brands either get it right early or spend years fixing what they rushed.

UWud had a strong idea at its core. Taking wooden waste and turning it into functional, well-crafted products. The intent was clear. The mission was meaningful.

But none of that existed visually yet.

And in a space like sustainability, that’s risky.

Because a lot of brands already say the right things. Eco-friendly. Conscious. Responsible. The problem is, most of them end up looking the same. Either too raw and niche, or too generic to stand out.

UWud needed to avoid both.

The identity had to do more than look good. It had to:

  • Communicate purpose without feeling preachy

  • Feel modern without losing its grounded roots

  • Work across products, packaging, and future growth

This wasn’t just about designing a logo.

It was about building a foundation the brand could grow on.

The Process

We didn’t begin with design. We began with clarity.

Before creating anything visual, we focused on defining how UWud should be perceived. Not just as a sustainable brand, but as a modern, well-crafted product company that happens to be sustainable.

From there, the identity was built in layers:

  • Avoided overused “eco” tropes and visual clichés

  • Established a balance between sustainability and product quality

  • Created a minimal yet distinctive mark

  • Integrated organic cues with structural form

  • Designed to reflect transformation, from waste to utility

  1. Color & Typography System

  • Earthy, timeless tones to stay rooted in sustainability

  • Clean, strong typefaces for clarity and reliability

  • Built for consistency across digital and physical touchpoints

  1. Brand Messaging & Story

  • Developed clear messaging pillars

  • Crafted a narrative that communicates purpose without over-explaining

  • Ensured adaptability across packaging, website, and campaigns

The goal throughout was simple.
Make the brand feel intentional, not decorative.
